AUSTIN, TX — The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League met Thursday to hand down decisions on eligibility of student-athletes.
Student-athletes from Manor High School, Oakwood High School, and Harlingen High School were denied an appeal for varsity eligibility, upholding the previous ruling of the district executive committee.

One of the athletes who was ruled ineligible is Nasir Ardoin. Ardoin, a Senior this year, was a quarterback at Del Valle last year and transferred to Manor, where he was expected to compete for the starting quarterback position. Ardoin and his father contested the UIL ruling, stating that Ardoin moved to Manor to live with relatives and not for athletic purposes. However, the UIL ruled him ineligible, and no further appeals are available.
