Allen Eagles Take Down Plano Wildcats 38-21

Tom Thumb - DFW's Grocer Since 1948

Old foes meet again…

On Friday, the Allen Eagles hosted the Plano Wildcats in both teams’ second district game of the season. Allen is coming off another dominating performance, having taken down Rock Hill decisively, winning 44-3. This week, they hope to continue that momentum as the Wildcats come to town. Plano, looking to bounce back after a close 28-26 loss to McKinney, aimed to spoil the Eagles’ homecoming, as these teams haven’t met in over four years.

The game started slowly for both teams, as their defenses made crucial stops and refused to yield. The first score came when Allen converted a 34-yard field goal, entering the second quarter with a 3-0 lead. Following this, the Eagles scored two touchdowns, igniting their offense while limiting the Wildcats to just one touchdown in the first half, leading 17-7 at halftime.

The game remained competitive; Plano capitalized on a forced punt, narrowing the gap to three points. However, Allen responded emphatically, scoring 21 unanswered points. Plano managed one final touchdown, but the Eagles secured the victory, winning 38-21.

Next week, the Eagles will look to continue their dominance as they travel to McKinney to take on the Lions, who are 2-1 this season and are coming off a bye week, aiming for revenge against Allen after the Eagles ended their undefeated streak last year. The Plano Wildcats will also continue district play next week as they host Princeton, who is 1-3 this season and coming off a 38-14 loss to Rock Hill.
