Legacy secured a narrow 42-36 victory over San Angelo Central during their homecoming game on Friday night. Legacy built a strong 35-9 lead in the first half, thanks to an impressive performance by homecoming king Aiden Serrano, who scored four touchdowns. The Rebels’ offense dominated early, while their defense managed key stops, allowing them to control the game going into halftime.
However, San Angelo Central came out fighting in the second half. Led by quarterback Christian English, who rushed for 174 yards and scored two touchdowns, the Bobcats steadily cut the deficit. They got as close as six points with less than a minute left on the clock, but their comeback bid ultimately fell short.
Despite the late surge by Central, Legacy’s defense made a critical stand in the final moments to secure the win. With this victory, Legacy improved to 2-4 on the season and opened district play with a win. They will now prepare to face Wolfforth Frenship, while San Angelo Central looks to regroup for their next game.
