Friday night in a 4a Division 1 matchup the 7-0 Celina Bobcats took on the 4-4 Paris Wildcats who are looking to make a huge statement win and stun Celina who has been on a tear this season blowing out every opponent they’ve faced.
Celina would strike first on the scoreboard taking an early 7-0 lead and with Celina’s staggering and dominant defense they went to work the whole night forcing many three-and-outs, Paris couldn’t find a way to move the ball. Celina’s offense was firing on all cylinders as they would extend their lead at the half 38-0. At the start of the second half Celina would add one more touchdown to their lead making it 45-0 as Paris would finally find themselves on the scoreboard a little too late as Celina would take this game 45-7 to move to 8-0 in the record books for the season. Celina has shown to be a deep playoff run contender this season after last year’s loss in the playoffs they’re certainly looking to go all the way and the way their defense has played, I don’t know who will stop this dominant 4a powerhouse this season.
Next week Celina will take on Community who is having a struggling season coming off a 56-7 loss to Sulphur Springs. As for Paris, they will head into their bye week looking to regain momentum and will face Community for their last district game.
