On Thursday night, Laredo Alexander won a decisive district match against Eagle Pass Winn by a score of 63-35. The win for the Bulldogs improved their district mark to 3-0 but that was not the main headline of the night with the Alexander-Winn contest. Alexander wide receiver Marc Lozoya made his own mark on the state record books with just 16 receptions and picking up 448 yards of offense in the process according to Jason Mack of the Laredo Morning Times. Six of those 16 receptions resulted in touchdowns for the senior Bulldog.
The 448 yards receiving by Lozoya shattered the single game state record set just a year ago by Amarillo Caprock WR Austin Bustos with 392 yards. Lozoya missed the national mark by just eight yards, also set last year by Kraig Pruett of Waldport, Oregon with 456 yards against Culver, Oregon. In that game, Pruett had similar stats with 18 receptions and four touchdowns.
