On Friday, October 25th, the Allen Eagles hosted the Prosper Eagles in their district championship showdown. Allen entered the game fresh off a dominant 63-14 victory over Plano West, while Prosper was coming off a narrow 29-17 win over the McKinney Lions.
First Half
The first half saw limited scoring. Prosper blocked an Allen field goal attempt on the opening drive, but Allen responded later with a 35-yard touchdown run by Micah Ellis. Down 7-0, Prosper capitalized on an unsportsmanlike penalty by Allen, setting up a 41-yard touchdown run by Leo Anguiano to tie the game going into halftime.
Second Half
Allen opened the second half with a strong drive, culminating in a rushing touchdown by Lynden Spriggs. After a Prosper penalty on the PAT, Allen opted for a two-point conversion and extended their lead to 15-7. With the defense stifling Prosper’s offense, Allen secured the victory when Brady Bricker connected with Donnell Gee Jr. for a 15-yard touchdown, sealing the game.
Allen Wins 22-7. Next week, Allen will head to McKinney Stadium to face the Boyd Broncos (2-6), who are coming off a 27-0 loss to the McKinney Lions.
