The Eagles found themselves down 14-0 early, but Zina Umeozulu and Nathan “The Tank” Marsh rallied their defensive troops and held the Rebels for the rest of the first half. The Eagles’ offense put up points and took a 16-14 lead into halftime. As the seconds ticked away, the Eagles and Rebels went shot for shot until the Eagles stopped the Rebels on a critical 4th down. This gave the Eagles the opportunity to go up by 10 points, and eventually 17 points. The Rebels saw their last efforts shattered as the Eagles intercepted a pass as Davila was taking pressure from both sides of the defensive line. This secured the win for the Eagles.
Allen won, 52-35.
Next week, the Eagles will continue their playoff campaign against undefeated North Crowley, who is coming off a 35-7 win against Prosper. North Crowley has an explosive offense, but they will be going up against a tough Allen defense that doesn’t give up yards easily.
