This is part 3 of a 6-part series of the winningest teams of the last decade. They have won 135 games and two 4A state titles over the last ten years. They finished as the 4A runner-up three times in 2011, 2014, 2015. They are the Argyle Eagles.
The Eagles are the defending 4A state champions and won another title in 2013.
2013 Championship Season
Argyle went 16-0 that season and averaged 39 points per game in the playoffs on their way to the 4A title game against Fairfield.
The Eagles were down 24-17 at the half. But they held Fairfield scoreless in the 3rd quarter. Late in the 4th quarter, Eagles RB Ian Sadler scored the go-ahead (and game-winning) touchdown. Argyle gained just 253 yards of total offense for the game.
Sadler gained 109 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns. He also caught four passes for 73 yards and returned a punt for 65-yards for another score. He was named the Offensive MVP.
Sadler finished the season with 1001 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns, and 38 catches for 665 and 12 touchdowns. He signed a scholarship offer with Texas Tech.
The defense turned in a solid performance with 2 INTs, 1 sack, and five tackles for loss. Colton Hinnrichs was named the Defensive MVP after racking up 11.5 tackles.
2020 Championship Season
The Eagles went undefeated (16-0) in 2020. They averaged 48 points per game in the postseason. Right out the gate, the Eagles pitched a 79-0 shutout over North Dallas, on their way to meeting Lindale in the championship game.
Argyle was clicking on all cylinders, gaining 571 yards of total offense, and converting 7 of 10 tries on 3rd down. They led 28-0 at halftime.
RB Tito Byce rushed for 152 yards and 4 touchdowns and was named the Offensive MVP.
QB CJ Rogers passed for 357 yards and three touchdowns.
WR Cole Kirkpatrick caught 8 passes for 116 yards.
WR Jasper Lott scored two receiving touchdowns on six catches and 73 yards.
WR Ward McCollum caught four balls for 79 yards and a touchdown.
The Eagle defense recorded three tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, and 1 sack. Zach Stewart was named Defensive MVP after making 6.5 tackles.
Going into 2021
Coach Todd Rogers welcomes 11 starters back from their 4A state championship team. Players he will be counting on this season include:

- OL Sheridan Wilson, 6-5, 285
- WR Hayden Stewart, 6-0, 180; 17 catches, 5 touchdowns.
- RB Knox Scoggins, 650 yards, 7 touchdowns.
- DB Will Ramsey, 5-11, 190, 75 tackles, and 2 INTs.
- OL Wes Tucker, 6-5, 240
- DL Michael Madrie, 6-5, 235
- LB Grant Mirabal, 6-2, 230; 88 tackles, 2 INTs.
