On September 6, 2024, the Atascocita Eagles faced off against the Katy Tigers in a much-anticipated matchup. Both teams entered the game riding high from their respective victories last week—Katy defeated Dickinson 41-37, while Atascocita overwhelmed Lamar 35-7.
Katy initially led the game 14-0 with early touchdowns from Tremayne Hill and Cade McCall. However, Atascocita quickly narrowed the gap with quarterback Cardae Mack’s two touchdown passes to CJ Toney. By halftime, Katy held a slim 17-14 lead.
In the second half, Atascocita took control, and the combination of Cardae Mack and Tory Blaylock became unstoppable. Mack threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Brodrick Malone and followed up with a rushing touchdown. Blaylock added to the scoring with two rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Both players dominated Katy’s defense, securing the win with a final score of 41-24.
Next week, Atascocita will face Austin Westlake, while Katy will open district play against Morton Ranch. This victory pushes Atascocita to 2-0 on the season, setting a strong pace for their upcoming games.
