Thursday night was 50 years in the making for Irion County.
Heading into this year’s playoffs, Irion County was looking for its first postseason victory since 1971.
Facing a stiff test against two-time state runner-up May, the Hornets delivered.
They entered the fourth quarter trailing 83-74, but a touchdown pass from Trevin Coffell to Bo Morrow, a pick-six by Coffell, and two rushing touchdowns by Jordan Harrison helped the Hornets pull off a 30-point fourth quarter and the 104-91 victory.
