Blanco Panthers Run Their Way To Victory

LULING, TX – The Blanco Panthers came into tonight’s game looking to stay undefeated, and the Luling Eagles looked to get their first win of the season.

It took awhile for the scoring to get started, but Blanco’s Ryan Ronces 9-yard run with 7:49 to go in the second quarter broke the scoreless tie; the point after was no good. Blanco quickly added to their score on an Adrien Dominquez 36-yard run with less than 5 minutes left in the half. Blanco tried for two, but was denied on their run, making the score 12-0. A minute and a half later Hugo Rodriquez was in the end zone after catching a 6-yard pass from Jordan Wagner; again the Panthers were denied on their 2-point conversion attempt. That would be all the scoring for the Panthers.

Luling finally got on the board with a 47-yard run from Shaft Cubit. The run was more than half of the Eagles 81 total rushing yards for the night. The defenses for both teams held on for the rest of the game, with the final score being 18-7. Blanco finished with 278 total yards, with 261 of those yards coming on the ground and 145 coming from Dominguez. Wyatt Bullock finished 10-17 for 161 yards and one interception.

Luling plays at home against the one and two Yoakum Bulldogs next week and Blanco takes on San Antonio Christian at home also one and two.
