Ferrell takes over for Ben Rudolph, who was reassigned after five years as head coach posting a record of 8-42 for the 4A school. Ferrell went 33-13 in four seasons at Houston North Forest and has previous head coaching stops at Fort Bend Kempner and Socorro High School in El Paso.
The Bulldogs went 9-3 last year and advanced to the area round before being defeated by eventual state champion Carthage in the Class 4A Division I playoffs.
