The Crawford Pirates’ momentum from last week’s win over Moody came to a halt on Friday, as they fell to the Bruceville-Eddy Eagles, 29-19. The Pirates, who had defeated the Eagles last season, couldn’t replicate that success this time around, facing a determined Bruceville-Eddy squad that was eager to even the score.
Bruceville-Eddy’s victory was powered by a balanced offensive attack. Leading the charge was Tyrrell Horne, who ran for a career-high 140 yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries, showcasing his explosive playmaking ability. Jack Dockstader added to the Eagles’ ground success, contributing 26 rushing yards and a touchdown.
For Crawford, the loss extended a tough road streak, marking their fourth consecutive road defeat and dropping their record to 1-8. The Pirates now face the challenge of bouncing back as they prepare to host Rosebud-Lott next Friday. Crawford’s offense will need to find ways to penetrate Rosebud-Lott’s stout defense, which allows just 14.2 points per game.
Bruceville-Eddy, now 4-5, will look to build on this win as they take on Riesel on the road next Friday.
