District 28-6A looks to be fair game this year with the like of SA O’Connor, SA Brennan, SA Brandeis and SA Warren all fighting for leverage against one another.
This district will provide some great matchups but if I’m choosing the last team standing I’m going with Brennan from Zone A to take on O’Connor from Zone B and best last year’s district champion. O’Connor by all means will not be an easy task and sure Brennan has lost quite a bit on defense but I believe fortune will be in their favor this time around.
Brennan has a phenomenal running back in Jahmyl Jeter returning to pair with their offensive line led by Isiah Walker and Mario Reyes and a solid receiving corp. Along the front lines of the defense, Joshua James should wreak some havoc and defensive back Isaiah Paul will be an asset at the secondary level.
Prediction: San Antonio Brennan

District 28-6A won’t look anything like it did in 2016. O’Connor, Brennan and Brandeis headlined the district, combining for a 16-2 record in league play with O’Connor cruising through unblemished. 2017 will be a battle of who can be best with what they have left.
All three lose plenty, especially on the defensive side of the ball if you’re Brennan or O’Connor. The Panthers seem to retain just enough to remain atop the district next season, though. Namely, 28-B Offensive MVP Roel Sanchez is back for O’Connor after combining for nearly 3,000 yards and 34 scores between him arm and legs as a junior. Pairing Sanchez with first-team running back Treyshaen Patterson and a talented unit of wide receivers led by Jalen Hughes should mean a potent offense in 2017 and another district crown.
Prediction: San Antonio O’Connor

This district is set up very unconventionally compared to the rest of Texas with Zone A and B but there should be a lot of talent on display in 28-6A
San Antonio Brandeis, Brennan and O’Connor all should be very strong again in 2017. Brandeis has to break in several new starters on both sides of the ball while Brennan has to replace nine starters on defense as well. In Zone A, I do like Brennan to come out on top. Running back Jahmyl Jeter is very underrated and will be fun to watch.
In Zone B, I like San Antonio O’Connor to come out on top. The Panthers bring back lots of talent on the offensive side of the ball and could be a potential candidate to make a deep playoff run if they get the right matchup. Quarterback Roel Sanchez, Millard Bradford and Jalen Hughes are a very dynamic trio and will help lead the Panthers to ultimately snag the district crown again.
Prediction: San Antonio O’Connor
