Celina kept its perfect season intact on Thursday night, steamrolling Lake Dallas 48-7 to move to 10-0. The Bobcats have made a habit of winning big, and this one marked their eighth victory of the year by 22 points or more. Lake Dallas, meanwhile, extended its losing streak to four games and dropped to 4-6, marking its lowest-scoring outing of the season.
Quarterback Bowe Bentley was the story once again. The junior needed only 12 pass attempts to carve up the Falcons’ secondary, finishing with 147 yards and five touchdowns while posting a career-best 148.3 passer rating. Bentley has now thrown three or more touchdown passes in four straight games, solidifying himself as one of the state’s most efficient passers.
The loss adds to a rough stretch for Lake Dallas, which has now dropped five of its last six. Celina, on the other hand, enters the postseason undefeated and looking every bit like a title contender. As of now, neither team has another regular season game scheduled.
