10 | Ingram Moore | (4-1) |
Watch List: Slaton (3-1); Clyde (3-2); Early (3-2); Bangs (3-2)
Analyzing The Region: Chances are Region I will come down to one of three teams winning the regional championship. Wall (5-0), which outscoring their opponents by 31+ points a game; Eastland (4-0), which has the highest scoring average among Region I teams at 54.5; and Denver City (5-0), which has allowed a region low 10 points per game. Do not count out a team like Idalou or Bushland to make a serious run in the playoffs. And the team to keep an eye on through the rest of the regular season is Comanche.

1 | New Boston | (5-0) |
2 | Malakoff | (5-0) |
3 | Daingerfield | (2-3) |

10 | Callisburg | (4-1) |
Watch List: Van Alstyne (3-2); Prairiland (3-2); Mount Vernon (2-3); Eustace (3-2)
Analyzing The Region: All in all, the region is New Boston’s region to lose. The Lions are scoring an average of 40.6 points a game while only allowing 9.2 points a game. The only team that has come lose to replicating the Lions are the Malakoff Tigers,who are scoring 59.6 points a game and allowing 11.8 points a game. Daingerfield, despite its 2-3 record is lurking in the rear view mirror and improving drastically each week.
Region III | ||
Team | Rec | |
1 | Newton | (4-0) |
2 | Tatum | (4-0) |
3 | Franklin | (5-0) |
4 | White Oak | (5-0) |
5 | East Chambers | (4-0) |
6 | Troup | (4-1) |
7 | Teague | (2-2) |
8 | Godley | (3-2) |
9 | Harmony | (4-1) |
10 | Grandview | (2-2) |
Watch List: Kirbyville (3-2); Jefferson (3-2); Elkhart (4-1); Palmer (4-1)
Analyzing The Region: Point blank, the chances of a team winning the region coming from 9-2A1 are pretty high considering the teams in the region do not beat each other up before the playoffs. Newton, Tatum, Franklin and White Oak lead the pack within the region. Troup and Harmony, also in 9-2A1, should also have plenty to say over the next few weeks. Newton, which is averaging 41.0 points a game against 9.5 points a game on the other side, could have a wide open door into the regional finals. The next three weeks should show a clear picture.
Region IV | ||
Team | Rec | |
1 | Cameron Yoe | (4-0) |
2 | Hallettsville | (5-0) |
3 | McGregor | (4-0) |
4 | Aransas Pass | (4-1) |
5 | Troy | (3-1) |
6 | Hempstead | (2-2) |
7 | Marion | (3-2) |
8 | Goliad | (4-1) |
9 | Luling | (4-1) |
10 | Edna | (2-2) |
Watch List: Jourdanton (4-1); Mathis (4-1); Marlinn (2-2); Bishop (4-2)
Analyzing The Region: The bottom line of the region is that it is Cameron Yoe’s region to lose. Hallettsville and McGregor should be right there with the Yoemen but in terms of overall strength of schedule, it’s really not even close. Outside of the big three, there are still plenty of great story lines and very solid teams. Troy, Marlin and Lago Vista, who are also in 13-2A1 with Cameron Yoe and McGregor, will be jockeying for prime playoff positioning. One of the five mentioned will eventually be left out in the cold in a few weeks. Keeping a close eye on 13-2A1 will be essential.
