Texas high school football was well represented in week 8 of the college football season. Here is a look at a few of those performances from former prep stars of the Lone Star state:
Former Waco Midway star Mordecai was 30/42 passing for 427 yards and 3 touchdowns. He completed 71% of his passes with no INTs in a 55-26 win over Tulane. SMU remains unbeaten at 7-0.
QB Spencer Sanders, #8 Oklahoma State (Denton Ryan HS):
Sanders, a former Denton Ryan signal-caller, completed 15 of 24 passes for 225 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 INTs in a 24-21 loss to Iowa State.
Smith fielded a punt in the first early in the first quarter and took it to the house, 95-yards for a touchdown in the 44-14 win over the Gamecocks of South Carolina.
WR Charleston Rambo, Miami (Cedar Hill HS):
The former Cedar Hill standout and Oklahoma transfer had 9 catches for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns in 31-30 win over N.C. State.
Ingram, a former Carthage Bulldog, rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown in a 31-16 loss to #13 Notre Dame.
DB Nathan Parodi, Arkansas (Austin Lake Travis):
A former Lake Travis Cavaliers standout, Parodi had 4 punt returns for 114 yards, including taking one to the house 80-yards for a touchdown in a 45-3 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
LB Bumper Pool, Arkansas (Lucas Lovejoy):
Pool, a former Lovejoy star, racked up eight tackles and a tackle for loss in a 45-3 rout of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
QB Wiley Green, Rice (Plano Prestonwood Christian HS):
Green, a former Prestonwood Christian standout, completed 77% of his passes (17 of 23) for 205 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 30-24 win over UAB.
