The Dallas Cowboys have secured Dak Prescott, even it is only temporary.
The Cowboys announced they have placed an an exclusive franchise tag on the fifth-year quarterback, who is coming off a career-high 4,902 passing yards and 30 touchdowns.

While Dallas accomplished its goal of retaining Prescott, the designation allows the team until July 15 to continue works on a long-term deal. If a deal is not struck by the date, Prescott will play for the Cowboys in 2020 and the process will begin again next offseason.
The Cowboys made the announcement public Monday morning.
