Cy Ranch got the District 16-6A win over Cy Springs, their 10th in the last 11 games vs the Panthers. But the biggest story out of the game is a player from Cy Ranch was injured in the game and was taken off the field by ambulance (the player’s name was not confirmed at the time of publishing this article). The player, while being transported into the ambulance, did give a thumbs up. Cy Ranch Head Coach Sean McAuliffe told our Taylor Arenz in a post-game interview that the player will be okay.
The Mustangs jumped off to a big 28-3 lead (sorry Atlanta Falcon fans). However, the lead disappeared in a matter of 4 minutes later in the second half as the Panthers closed to 28-23 at halftime. But, coming out of halftime, Cy Ranch got back to the dominant play that got the big lead, going up 55-23. Cy Springs put 6 more on the board late in the game to make the final score 55-29.
Cypress Ranch is now 4-1, tied with Cypress Falls at the top of District 16-6A. They face Cypress Falls in the last game of the regular season in a game that might decide the District. The Cypress Springs Panthers fall to 2-3, however, as a program that only won a total of two games over the previous three seasons, the Panthers have a good chance at a 3-4 win season and could be a program on the rise.
