Johnson had originally intended to make up his mind on National Signing Day, but announced that he would move up his decision to Tuesday night. He had been a Texas A&M commit since November and ultimately decided to stick with his original commitment after visiting both Texas A&M and Baylor in the last two weekends.
The senior was used in a wide variety of ways at Kimball. After being selected as a second team all-district quarterback as a junior, Johnson moved to outside linebacker and became a 11-5A All-District first team selection as a senior.
With the move, Johnson solidifies his spot as the third linebacker and the 26th commit in the Aggies 2017 recruiting class.
