Denton High’s search for a new football coach is over. The Broncos have hired Billy Miller, who was the wide receivers coach at Denton Ryan, to replace Kevin Atkinson, who left Denton for Flower Mound Marcus.

The new gig will be Billy Miller’s first head coaching job.
Miller isn’t just a coach, he had success as a player too. In 1995 he led class 5A in receiving yards at Flower Mound Marcus, and helped lead the team to a finals berth. Marcus would go on to win a title in 1997. His previous stops included his alma mater and Dumas, where he was the offensive coordinator from 2007-2009.
Snagging Miller away from Denton Ryan could end up being a huge win. He’s had undeniable levels of success wherever he’s been, and he definitely has the framework already in place at Denton.
