It was Parents Night in Johnson City and they were treated to some outstanding football as Johnson City poured it on early and often and dominated Center Point47-0.
Johnson City now owns a 9-1 record vs Center Point. After going 11-24 from 2018-2020, the Eagles have done a complete about-face and have a 7-2 record, and are eying a playoff berth.
Johnson City Eagles Soar
It was the Eagles’ third shutout of the season and in the last three games, they have outscored their opponents 131-26. They currently are in sole possession of 2nd place in district 14-2A with a 3-1 record.
QB Cade Boyer was 5 of 6 passing for 162 yards and 3 touchdowns. The running game was in good hands as Tyler Lorenz and Haden Fox each scored a TD on the ground.
WR Nathan Axtell caught two of Boyer’s touchdown passes. He had 76 yards receiving for a 36.5-yard average. WR Ryan Shipley caught the other TD pass from Boyer, a 70-yard strike.
