ALLEN, Texas— Two of the fastest offenses in the state meet up Saturday afternoon when the Falcons of North Forney take on the Mansfield Legacy Broncos. Coming into this one, both teams combine for over 11,000 yards of total offense.
So far this season, North Forney has not scored under 40 points. Led by Louisiana Monroe commit Colby Suits at quarterback, the Falcons run an offense that tires out defenses and doesn’t allow time to substitute. Suits has thrown for 3,223 yards and 41 touchdowns so far this season and rushed for 747 yards and 18 touchdowns. Teamed up with Calvin Ribera (1,678 yards and 20 touchdowns rushing) in the backfield, this is an offense that can beat anybody through the air or on the ground.
Legacy, despite a fast offense, can really rely on their defense in close situations. Four of their games this season have been decided by 10 points or less. 4-star safety Jalen Catalon has 80 tackles on the year and leads the team in interceptions. However, he is just as dangerous on offense.
He has played as quarterback and running back this year. He has lit up the stat sheet with 685 yards and 8 touchdowns passing and 790 yards and 10 touchdowns rushing. Typically those numbers would be average for a 5A QB/RB, but when he dominates as a safety as well, he becomes someone to keep an eye on.
If Legacy can slow down North Forney, they will force them off their game and could come up with a big win.
