Rated the No. 27 wide receiver in the 2021 recruiting class per a 247sports composite and arguably one of the best in the Dallas area, Sturdivant turned down offers from national champion LSU to play for Cal Berkeley. The Golden Bears are known for producing two-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers and three-time Pro Bowl receivers Keenan Allen and DeSean Jackson.
The 6-foot-2 receiver narrowed down his final four to Cal, LSU, OU, and UCLA, but ultimately chose Cal. In a statement on Twitter, Sturdivant thanked all the coaches who have given him an opportunity as well as believed in his ability:

Sturdivant played a key role in leading Marcus to the District 6-6a title and the third round of playoffs finishing the season with an 11-2 record.
Sturdivant has brought in 34 scholarship offers and will return to play for Marcus in his senior season alongside four-star quarterback and LSU commit Garrett Nussmeier.
