Fort Bend Marshall Stampedes Willowridge for Big Win
The Fort Bend Marshall defense was stout as they allowed Fort Bend Willowridge just 157 yards total yards, including only 20 yards passing, as the Buffaloes ran over the Eagles for a 56-7 win.
Fort Bend Marshall remains undefeated at 8-0.
Willowridge could only muster one touchdown, a 16-yard strike from QB Blaize Covington to Nickolas Shock in the 1st quarter.
Marshall QB Ja’Koby Banks threw two touchdown passes. Jordan Davis played some at quarterback and also threw a touchdown pass.
In the rushing department, Aaron McGowen, Runderick Dudley, and Banks each scored on the ground. Dudley also added a receiving touchdown.
WR Chris Marshall caught 2 balls for 90 yards and two touchdowns.
But the Marshall defense played lights out. They forced five Willowridge turnovers (4 INTs, 1 fumble recovery)
DB Adari Haulcy returned two of those INTs for touchdowns in the 3rd quarter, one for 23 yards and the other for 67 yards.
As a unit, the Marshall defense is allowing a measly eight points per contest. Coming into the game, Marshall had pitched four consecutive shutouts. The Buffaloes outscored those four opponents 248-0.
The offense has scored 48 or more points in every game this season. They are averaging 58 points per game.
Marshall is now 16-2 vs Willowridge.
After a bye week next week, Marshall travels to play Houston Sterling on October 29th. Willowridge hosts Houston Sterling next Thursday night.
