Independence High School’s four-star tight end, Elijah Arroyo, committed to Miami Sunday evening. The commitment marks Miami’s 14th commitment in the 2021 recruiting class and the first from outside of Florida. Arroyo announced his decision via Twitter:

The 6-4 junior out of Frisco, Texas chose Miami over offers from LSU, Auburn, Alabama, TXU, Texas, Texas A&M, USC and more. According to a 247sports composite, Arroyo is ranked at No. 10 in the tight end position for 2021 recruits in the nation- 50th in the state.
Arroyo tallied 648 receiving yards and five touchdown catches on 48 receptions in the 2019 season. Arroyo is the fifth four-star prospect Miami has nabbed to it’s 2021 recruiting class.
