Frenship Claims District Title in Thrilling 51-44 Victory

The Frenship Tigers secured a dramatic 51-44 victory over San Angelo Central in their regular season finale, finishing with an undefeated district record of 5-0. The game began with Frenship dominating early, taking advantage of excellent field position set up by their defense and special teams. The Tigers scored three unanswered touchdowns in the first quarter, building a 21-0 lead. San Angelo Central responded on the first play of the second quarter, cutting the deficit to 14, but Frenship quickly answered, making it 28-7. The Bobcats fought back before halftime with a touchdown and two-point conversion, narrowing the score to 28-15.

The second half opened with a bang, as Frenship drove 75 yards in just 25 seconds for a touchdown and successful two-point conversion to extend their lead to 36-15. However, San Angelo Central stormed back, scoring two quick touchdowns and adding a two-point conversion to trim the gap to 36-31. After forcing a turnover on downs, the Bobcats capitalized, taking a 37-36 lead. Frenship answered immediately, regaining a 44-37 lead after a two-minute drive and another two-point conversion.

San Angelo Central tied the game 44-44 with a quick scoring drive, setting up a thrilling finish. With just 20 seconds left, Frenship’s offense delivered the go-ahead touchdown, securing the 51-44 win. The Tigers showcased resilience and execution in critical moments to claim the outright district title.

Frenship ends the regular season 9-1 and now looks ahead to their first playoff game, with their opponent yet to be determined.
