Frenship Dominates on the Road, Remains Undefeated
On Friday night, the Frenship Tigers traveled to New Mexico to take on the Cleveland Storm, who were looking to bounce back after suffering a close loss to the Artesia Bulldogs.
Tigers Quarterback Hudson Hutcheson was on fire all night, as he completed 27 passes on 34 attempts for 331 yards and 4 touchdowns. Hutcheson connected with receivers Chase Campbell on 8 catches for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Maverick Allen, who caught 4 passes for 51 yards, scoring 2 touchdowns himself. Hutcheson also connected with Landon Hutcheson on 6 catches for 66 yards, Brooks Robinson, who had 5 catches for 42 yards, and Noah Ingram and Leyton Stone, who each had 2 catches.
The Tigers struggled to get the ball moving on the ground, as Jordon Hernandez rushed for 28 yards on 4 touches, and Jaden Tackett could only muster 14 yards on 4 carries. The Tigers defense was led by Santiago Sanchez, who had 5 tackles on the night, and helped his team keep Cleveland from scoring the whole game.
Cleveland Quarterback Jordan Hatch couldn’t get his team in the endzone, as he completed 12 passes on 18 attempts for only 92 yards. The rushing game couldn’t get the Storm in the endzone neither, even though Harris Mbueha was able to rush for 87 yards on 9 touches. The Storm defense was able to force some punts, but they couldn’t stop the Frenship air raid offense, as the Tigers let the pigskin fly all night.
Frenship won easily 35-0.
Frenship has next week off, as they will start district play against Midland Legacy in two weeks. Cleveland will start district play next week as they travel to play the Hawks from Volcano Vista.
