Frenship Tigers Win Big in 87-58 Playoff Clash
On Friday night, the Frenship Tigers started their road to Arlington as they traveled to Eastwood High to take on the Troopers on their home turf.

The Troopers came out strong as Evan Minjarez completed 16 of 20 passes for 271 yards, while rushing for 297 yards and scoring 5 touchdowns. Minjarez connected with receivers Evan Macias, who had 3 receptions for 112 yards, Maximus Mancilla, who had 6 receptions for 70 yards, and Rudy Garcia, who had 5 catches for 67 yards. While consistent in the air, the Troopers also moved the ball on the ground as Maximus Mancilla rushed for 141 yards on 33 carries, scoring 2 times, and Darian Diaz added to the score as he rushed for a 3-yard touchdown.

Hudson Hutcheson had himself a game as he completed 26 of 28 passes for 507 yards, throwing for 9 touchdowns and rushing for 17 yards. Hutcheson connected with his main target, Leyton Stone, who racked up a career-high 227 yards on 12 receptions, scoring 4 touchdowns. Hutcheson also connected with Chase Campbell, who had 3 receptions for 129 yards, scoring 2 touchdowns, and Landon Hutcheson, who finished the night with 8 receptions for 110 yards and 3 touchdowns. As they were dominant in the air, the Tigers continued their dominance on the ground as Luke Cortez rushed for 95 yards on 16 carries, barreling his way into the endzone for 2 touchdowns.

Next week, Frenship will continue their playoff run as they travel to play the Southlake Carroll Dragons, whose last State Championship appearance was in 2020 against Austin Westlake. This season, the Dragons are 10-1 and are coming off a dominant 70-0 win against Boswell. This game is either going to be a high-scoring affair coming down to the wire, or a defensive showcase. The site for the game is still undetermined, but you are not going to want to miss this one.
