The Houston Cougars have continued to rack up commits on the recruiting trail and on Monday night, they picked up another local talent in Houston St. Thomas offensive lineman Max Banes.

Banes becomes the ninth commit in the Class of 2018 for the Cougars and the second local talent to commit to Houston on Monday. Fort Bend Marshall wide receiver Henry Thomas announced his commitment earlier on Monday.
It’s also been a hot recruiting weekend for the Cougars as they also picked up commitments from Belton all-state safety Garrison Vaughn and Spring defensive end Willie Smith since Friday.
Banes will look to be a key figure up front for St. Thomas in 2017. Last year, the Eagles finished 5-6 and were eliminated in the first round of the TAPPS Division 1 state playoffs.
