One of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2019 ended up making a second commitment on Monday. Houston St. Pius X quarterback Grant Gunnell committed to play in the 2019 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The game will have a different name when Gunnell plays after the U.S. Army ends its sponsorship of the game after next season.

Gunnell also announced his commitment to Texas A&M on Monday along with wide receiver and teammate Chase Lane. The two Panthers became the first commits for head coach Kevin Sumlin for the 2019 class.
2016 proved to be a big year for the 6-6 quarterback, throwing for nearly 5,000 yards and 71 touchdowns last season. The Panthers finished 11-1 last season and will look to win a state title with Gunnell and company in the TAPPS Divison I playoffs next season.
