Mansfield Timberview has its new head football coach, and he’s no stranger to tough jobs.
Jacody Coleman, the former head coach at Dallas Skyline, was officially named Timberview’s new head coach and athletic coordinator on Wednesday.
Coleman inherits a Timberview program that went 6-5 last year but made a deep playoff run just two seasons ago. He replaces Robby DeSanto, who spent 13 years at Timberview, including the last two as head coach.
Coleman’s track record is about grit and growth. At Skyline, he took over a 1-9 team and slowly turned things around despite playing in 11-6A, one of the state’s toughest districts. His team went 4-6 in 2024 and pulled off a 31-0 win over playoff-bound Crowley.
A Beaumont native and former Iowa Hawkeye, Coleman built his coaching career at Atascocita under Craig Stump before heading to DFW.
Now, he’s ready to bring that same energy to Timberview.
“My goal is to build a consistent winner,” he said. “I want Timberview to be mentioned with the best programs in Texas.”
Coleman starts in April and says his first priority is connecting with the entire campus. “We’ll build relationships first,” he said. “Then we’ll go to work.”
