Standing out as one of the premiere defensive backs in not only the Army All-American Game, but in the country, South Grand Prairie High School’s Jeffrey Okudah selected to play his college football at Ohio State University.
The South Grand Prairie High senior, who is rated as the #1 defensive back 247 Sports composite rankings, chose between Florida State, Ohio State and Oklahoma before selecting to play for the Buckeyes.
With all signs leading to Ohio State before kickoff, it was no surprise Okudah picked to play in Columbus, with Ohio State producing a number of quality corners that have gone to play on Sundays. Urban Meyer has another on his hands now as Okudah made numerous stops at the beginning of the contest inside the Alamodome.
In the interview with NBC Sports before Okudah, who let his little sister hand him the hat representing the school of his choice, commented on not only how his research helped him make a football decision, but also knowing how prestigious the business program was just added to making this the ideal decision for his future.
For anyone in attendance at The Alamodome Saturday, it was easy to see why Okudah was such a highly sought after recruit by multiple FBS powerhouses. Mixing a taller cornerback stature with speed and intelligence, is receiving a prospect who can make an immediate impact at the next level, athletically and academically.
