The Cowboys’ Roger Staubach is the originator of what we now call the “Hail Mary” play. The term was born in popular culture when he described his reaction to a late, deep pass he threw as simply closing his eyes and saying a Hail Mary. The Cowboys definitely needed a blessing that day, but if they’re looking for a blessing in the future, Jerry Jones might be able to secure blessings for all in advance when he and other members of the Hall of Fame meet the Pope today.
I want to be a fly on the wall when Jerry Jones meets Pope Francis https://t.co/daUpbtmwMS via @ProFootballTalk

The premise of Jerry Jones going to meet Pope Francis sounds like the the beginning of a bad joke. Hopefully he can ask Francis to bless the knees and shoulders of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas is definitely going to need big years from those two in 2017.
