Texas A&M defensive tackle Justin Madubuike (McKinney North) is headed to Baltimore after being drafted with the 71st overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft on Friday.
Madubuike joins a team that finished 14-2, but failed to get out of the AFC Divisional Playoffs in 2019. Madubuike is the second former Texas High School Football star that the Ravens picked on Friday after selecting Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins (La Grange) 55th overall.
Madubuike led the Aggies with 11.5 tackles for loss to go along with 5.5 sacks and seven quarterback hurries. He helped Texas A&M finish 8-5 on the season and beat former conference rival Oklahoma State in the Texas Bowl.
He earned both all-state and all-district honors at McKinney North in 2016.
In addition to Madubuike, the Miami Dolphins took Texas defensive back Brandon Jones (Nacogdoches) one slot earlier at 70.
