Katy Still In The Hunt For A State Title

AUSTIN, TX – The UIL made its ruling following allegations that an ineligible player from Katy High School played in their 66-0 win over Friendswood last Friday night.

Katy will continue their postseason run in hopes of returning to the title game for the forth consecutive year.

The player in question is suspended from football for the rest of the season, and there was a motion to publicly reprimand the school and a yearlong probation sentence for the Katy High School football program.

Earlier this week Katy High School found out a player that played in the game against Friendswood was ineligible.

The rule in question is section 440 and states “If a student subsequently transfers to another school, the student is not eligible for varsity athletic competition until he/she has been in and regularly attended that school for at least the previous calendar year.”

As previously expected Katy will play Manvel on Friday at NRG Stadium in Houston.
