Houston added another hometown commitment to its 2018 recruiting class on Monday when Klein Collins offensive lineman Kameron Lewis gave his verbal pledge to Major Applewhite and the Houston Cougars.

The three-star lineman chose Houston over offers from Texas State, UTSA, and Tulsa among others. Lewis is Commit No. 21 for the Houston Cougars in the Class of 2018. His teammate, inside linebacker Donavan Mutin, also gave his verbal commitment to the Cougars back in June.
Lewis ended up playing behind a veteran group at offensive line last season for the Tigers and with four all-district selections graduating, the rising senior will have his opportunity to help lead the way up front for head coach Drew Svoboda and a team coming off a deep playoff run in the Class 6A Division II state semifinals last season.
Klein Collins opens their season at Cypress Woods on September 1.
