Friday’s Update: La Feria defeated Crane 42-26 Friday and advanced to the Round of 16 before losing to East Bernard 27-25. The Lions went 2-3 for the tournament.
(COLLEGE STATION) – Coming into their last game of the day, the La Feria Lions 7-on-7 team was 1-1 and faced Carthage for a spot in the championship bracket of the Adidas Division II State Tournament.
Unfortunately, the Lions weren’t able to move on as they dropped a heartbreaker 48-46 to Carthage in their pool on Thursday evening.
In Pool O, La Feria ended up 1-2 and will now head to the consolation bracket and face Crane at 8 a.m. today.
The Lions started the day against Taylor and lost their first game 34-14.
La Feria was able to rebound and win their first game as they defeated Brownwood 42-37.
Carthage and Taylor will both advance to the championship bracket as they went 2-1 in their pool.
