Lake Travis Rallies Past Rockwall in 28-20 Win

Austin Roof Inspection

Lake Travis stayed unbeaten Friday night with a 28-20 road win at Rockwall, but it didn’t come easy. The Cavaliers had to overcome a weather delay, a second-half deficit, and plenty of fireworks from the Yellowjackets’ offense.

Rockwall struck first as Kaydon Castro broke loose for a 45-yard touchdown. Castro wasn’t done—he later ripped off a 70-yard score and finished with 182 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Jaiden Petrino also hauled in seven catches for 123 yards, keeping the Yellowjackets’ offense rolling.

But the night belonged to Lake Travis running back Vann Hopping. He piled up 292 total yards and scored four touchdowns—three on the ground and one on a 62-yard reception. His 95-yard TD run in the first half swung momentum back to the Cavaliers and silenced the Rockwall sideline.

The Lake Travis defense made big plays as well. Luca Antoun and Braeden Lott each snagged interceptions, while Daniel Aganbi led with 11 tackles and a sack. Those stops gave the Cavaliers the chances they needed to pull away late.

Lake Travis improves to 2-0 and will host Midland Legacy next week. Rockwall falls to 1-1 but showed they can battle with one of the state’s top-ranked programs. The Yellowjackets host Lewisville in their final non-district test on Thursday.
