Lamar product and former Texas Tech running back Ta’Zhawn Henry is headed home! Henry announced his transfer to the University of Houston on Saturday via Twitter:

Henry entered the transfer portal in March where he announced his decision to leave the Red Raiders via Twitter with a goodbye message to all of his friends, fans, teammates, and the university:

In his two seasons with Texas Tech, Henry rushed for 681 yards (341 in 2018; 240 in 2019) and 11 touchdowns (eight in 2018; three in 2019). His best game in a Red Raider jersey was against Houston in 2018 where he rushed for 111 yards and scored four touchdowns.
Henry graduated from Lamar in 2018 where he recorded incredible career stats: 3400 rushing yards, 4400 all-purpose yards and 48 total touchdowns. He posted 15 games with over 100 rushing yards.
Henry originally picked Texas Tech over programs like Oregon State, Nebraska, Baylor and more. With a transfer to Houston, he returns to his hometown.
