Lufkin wide receiver Malik Jackson decommitted from the University of Houston today.
I️ would like to thank The University of Houston for the opportunity but I️ am choosing to decommit and reopen my recruiting process…

Jackson is a highly touted three-star boasting offers from Texas State, Arkansas State, Sam Hosuton State and most recently, Tulane. He’s had an outstanding senior year, his most recent performance went for 180-yards and a touchdown to beat Oak RIdge 34-7. Expect his recruiting to pick up now that he’s no longer tied to a team.
Playing in a tough division, Jackson is arguably the second best wide reciever, behind The Woodland’s Kesean Carter. Jackson’s Lufkin Panthers have turned their performance up a notch beating Beaumont, West Brook and Oak Ridge in back-to-back weeks.
Now 3-1 in the district, their late push has all but sealed the second seed in the playoffs. If Jackson continues his hot streak, he should start to see offers rolling in as he continues to help his team into a potential playoff run.
