Manor Student Murdered at School

Manor ISD has canceled its upcoming football game against Round Rock following the tragic death of a student. The decision was made as the district and community mourn the loss of 18-year-old Darrin Loving, who was fatally stabbed at Manor Senior High School on October 29. Authorities arrested another student, Mac Brown Mbah Mbanwei, for the attack, charging him with murder.

The incident, described as isolated by police, has deeply affected students and staff. In a statement, Manor ISD Superintendent Dr. Robert Sormani expressed sorrow, emphasizing the district’s focus on supporting the grieving community. Schools in the district have been closed through November 1, with classes expected to resume on November 4.

The game cancellation reflects Manor ISD’s efforts to prioritize the well-being of its students during this difficult time. Additional security reviews are underway to ensure campus safety, as students and families work through the trauma caused by the tragic event.
