Michael Bennett, who’s been with the Seahawks since 2013, is in the middle of his second stint with the Washington based franchise. He started his pro career there in 2009. He never played much in his first campaign there, but a successful outing in Tampa Bay meant that he was a hot commodity coming into the 2013 season.

After resigning with Seattle, he went on to be a key contributor in a Super Bowl victory, and was again a contributor on another run to the Super Bowl the next year. Bennett made his bank as a defensive tackle, but he’s been playing a lot at the right defensive end spot for the dominant Seattle defense.

Bennett played his college days at Texas A&M, where he was a key contributor to the Aggies in their last days in the Big 12. His high school days were spent at Alief Taylor in Houston, where he was a first team all-district performer as a senior.

The Seahawks are 4-1, and in the lead in a difficult NFC West division. Their opponents, the Cardinals, are sitting in second place with a 3-3 record, and are looking to upset the Seahawks at home. The Cardinals have been on fire lately, and will be a tough task for Bennett and crew to completely shut down.

The Seahawks’ defense hasn’t been what they have been in recent years, and they’ll need to be to get a win in a hostile road environment. The Seahawks are going to need a solid pass rush in order to put some pressure on the Cards, and that starts up front with Bennett.
