QB Drew Brees (Austin Westlake, New Orleans Saints)
It was more about the running game than the Drew Brees air show on Sunday, but the veteran signal caller managed the game well. Brees finished with 184 yards passing and even showed some mobility with a touchdown run in the third quarter of New Orleans’ blowout win over Buffalo.
DE Alex Okafor (Pflugerville, New Orleans Saints)
The Saints defense effectively shut down the Buffalo Bills offense on Sunday and Alex Okafor helped to play a part of that. The defensive end finished with four tackles, two quarterback hits a sack and a pass breakup. The New Orleans defense continues to be one of the more remarkable turnaround stories in the NFL.
QB Case Keenum (Abilene Wylie, Minnesota Vikings)
The former Abilene Wylie quarterback wasn’t as sharp in the second half but Keenum was on his way to one of his games in his career. He finished 21-of-29 for 304 yards and four touchdowns as he led the Minnesota Vikings to a road win over Washington and a 7-2 record.
TE David Morgan (Marble Falls, Minnesota Vikings)
The UTSA alum and former Marble Falls caught his first career NFL touchdown pass on Sunday from Case Keenum in the win over the Washington Redskins.
WR Brandon LaFell (Houston Lamar, Cincinnati Bengals)
The Bengals receiver had one of his best games of the year, as he caught six passes for 95 yards which included a 37-yard touchdown in Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
CB Quandre Diggs (Angleton, Detroit Lions)
The former UT and Angleton star stepped up defensively for the Lions on Sunday, finishing with six tackles and a quarterback hit in the win over the Cleveland Browns.
QB Matthew Stafford (Dallas Highland Park, Detroit Lions)
Matthew Stafford help rally the Detroit Lions in the second half, throwing for 249 yards and three touchdowns in the win over the Browns.
S Tashaun Gipson (Dallas Kimball, Jacksonville Jaguars)
Tashaun Gipson came up with one of the biggest plays of the game against the Los Angeles Chargers, a fumble recovery that set up a game-tying field goal for the Jaguars. At 6-3, Jacksonville took another big step forward in staying in the race for the AFC South. He also finished with five tackles.
S Jamal Adams (Lewisville Hebron, New York Jets)
The rookie safety continues to be one of the more impressive playmakers. On Sunday, Adams finished with six tackles and a tackle for loss in the New York Jets game at Tampa Bay.
RB Charles Sims (Houston Westbury, Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
Charles Sims finished with only 30 total yards, but he ended up catching the lone touchdown of the game for Tampa Bay from Ryan Fitzpatrick. The Bucs win over the Jets ended a five game losing streak.
RB Ty Montgomery (Dallas St. Mark’s, Green Bay Packers)
After Aaron Jones left Sunday’s game with an injury, Ty Montgomery stepped up with a long touchdown run in Sunday’s win over the Chicago Bears.
DL Michael Brockers (Houston Chavez, Los Angeles Rams)
Michael Brockers had three tackles, a sack and a pass breakup as the Los Angeles Rams shut down the Houston Texans offense on Sunday. The Rams are now 7-2 on the season.
WR Taylor Gabriel (Mesquite Horn, Atlanta Falcons)
The Atlanta Falcons receiver made the most of his targets on Sunday, coming up with three catches for 58 yards in Sunday’s win over the Dallas Cowboys.
WR Marquise Goodwin (Rowlett, San Francisco 49ers)
Marquise Goodwin made one of the biggest plays on the game on Sunday for San Francisco, catching an 83-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Beathard. But the touchdown had a little bit more meaning beyond the win.

It has been an emotional last couple of days for the receiver and his family after losing his newborn son just hours earlier that morning. Thoughts and prayers are with the Goodwin family for their loss.
RB Rex Burkhead (Plano, New England Patriots)
Rex Burkhead seems to be one of several versatile running backs the Patriots can go to and he got things going on Sunday with a receiving touchdown. He also finished with 63 total yards as New England dominated the Denver Broncos.
WR Emmanuel Sanders (Bellville, Denver Broncos)
Sanders has been hampered by injuries this season but he had his best game of the season, catching six passes for 137 yards. Unfortunately for the Broncos, they’ve lost five in a row and Sanders will have to be a key part in turning the season around.
