Each year, the UIL gives coaches the opportunity to make a decision that they feel is best for their programs. The offer is an opportunity for spring practices and no two-a-day practices as fall semesters begin or the opposite, no spring practices in exchange for two-a-days and reporting a week or two early prior to the start of the fall semesters.
With the growing concern of COVID-19 (coronavirus) many coaches may look to opt for two-a-days as many school districts across the metroplex and throughout the state are beginning to close down.
How long will they remain closed? No one really knows.
Fortunately, high school spring practices typically won’t start for another few weeks, and this is a situation worth monitoring.
As of now, the following North Texas ISD’s have extended spring break an extra week, and more are sure to follow.
