Plainsmen Overwhelm Longhorns in 45-10 Win
The Plainsmen end their losing drought against Caprock.
Caprock Longhorns
The Longhorn offense struggled to gain yards through the air the entire night, as both Quarterbacks combined for only 65 yards. The Quarterback duo connected with Victor Acevedo and Carlos Gonzales, who each had 2 receptions. Acevedo ended the night with 20 yards and Gonzales totaled 18 yards. Not only did the struggle continue through the air, but the ground game struggled as well. Running back Zayden Ramirez was able to find the endzone once, but he could only muster 56 yards on 10 carries.
Monterey Plainsmen
Luke Arrington completed 7 of 16 passes for 78 yards and rushed for 12 yards on 2 carries, one of which resulted in a touchdown. Arrington connected with Kash Lewis one time for 28 yards, and Jamarcus Smith one time for 6 yards. With little success through the air, the Plainsmen relied on the ground game. Dezmond WIlliams rushed for 128 yards on 20 carries and Jamarcus Smith rushed for 42 yards on 7 carries and 2 touchdowns.
Monterey gets the win over Caprock 45-10.
Next week the Plainsmen will take on Lubbock Cooper, who is coming off a 3-point loss to Abilene. Caprock will return home to take on Tascosa, who is coming off a bye week.
