After a big Thursday night with two critical games, the first-round playoff matchups are set for District 6-5A Division 1.

FRISCO REEDY (10-0, 8-0) VS DALLAS WT WHITE (5-5, 5-3)

7pm Thursday, The Star in Frisco

The only thing that was known going into the weekends games was that Reedy would be the number one seed.  They finished their perfect regular season last week with a last-second win over Frisco Heritage.  The Lions get to stay at home for the first round.  WT White came close to pulling an upset at Birdville, but lost 20-17 knocking them into the four-seed.  The Lions are led on offense by running back Dennis Moody, who has over 1300 yards rushing, and on defense by end Dixon Hudson who has 25 tackles for loss on the season.  Reedy and White did have one mutual opponent, Heritage.  Heritage easily beat White 28-0.  Reedy beat Heritage 32-31 on a last-second punt block.  Reedy looks to have an easy first round matchup before a probable second-round game with Lancaster.

FRISCO LONE STAR (8-2, 6-2) VS RICHLAND (8-2, 6-2)

7pm Friday, Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco

After starting district play 0-2, Lone Star has rallied and now finds themselves with a six-game winning streak.  The Rangers win over Heritage Thursday night was huge.  Although they were already in the playoffs, this allowed them to get the two seed rather than the four.  The Rangers continue to be led by quarterback Bennett Fryman, who has put up some big numbers after the first two QB’s were injured.  Richland had a nice season, but dropped district games to Birdville and Mansfield Timberview to finish third.  The winner of this game will be looking at a probable second-round matchup with Longview, the number-one team in the state.

FRISCO WAKELAND (6-4, 5-3) VS BIRDVILLE (8-2, 7-1)

7pm Friday, Birdville Fine Arts Complex and Stadium

Wakeland went into it’s game against Frisco this weekend with their backs up against the wall.  A loss would mean being eliminated from the playoffs.  A win by 5 would guarantee the 4th seed and a win by 10 would guarantee the 3rd seed.  They jumped on Frisco early, jumping out to a 24-0 halftime lead, and holding on for a 31-6 victory.  The Wolverines continue to be led on offense by quarterback Brennan Myer who has 29 touchdown passes on the season.  On defense, linebacker Barrett Kennedy leads the team with 100 tackles and 4 sacks.  Birdville has a pretty good quarterback as well, as Noah Normand has 24 touchdown passes.  This could be an entertaining game offensively with both teams wanting to air it out.

FRISCO HERITAGE (6-4, 5-3) VS MANSFIELD TIMBERVIEW (10-0, 8-0)

7pm Friday, Vernon Newsom Stadium in Mansfield

After starting 5-0 in district, Heritage struggled down the stretch, but were still able to clinch the 4th seed.  The Coyotes do have the misfortune of having to play undefeated Timberview, the number two team in the state.  The Coyotes are healthy, as they finally have quarterback Devin Calvin back from some mid-season injuries.  Safety Dylan Doubt, the leading tackler for the Coyotes, will be busy on Friday, as Timberview likes to run the ball.  The Wolves average almost 250 yards on the ground.  The teams do have one common opponent, WT White.  The Coyotes beat them 28-0, while the Wolves beat them 70-17.
