Thursday night, the 7-2 Prosper Eagles took on the 0-9 Plano West Wolves in a 6A matchup. Prosper is looking to end their season with as much momentum as they can possibly get before the playoffs. Plano West is still looking for its first win of the season, but it will be playing a tough opponent to achieve that first win.
Prosper would strike first with a touchdown and take a first quarter lead 7-0. Plano West couldn’t get anything going in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Prosper would extend their lead, adding two more touchdowns, leading Plano West 21-0. Plano West would finally find themselves on the scoreboard with a field goal cutting the lead down 21-3.
Prosper kept pressing on the gas in the second half as their defense would not let Plano West near the red zone after their field goal. Prosper would take advantage of this dominant showing by their defense and add 23 more points in the third quarter leading Plano West 44-3. Plano West would try to mount the comeback by finally scoring a touchdown, but it was too late as Prosper would take this game 51-10. Prosper is looking to make a deep run in the playoffs but they have a tough road against them if they want to win it all.
Next week, the Prosper Eagles will take on a very good Coppell Cowboys team, as this is no easy game for the Eagles. They will need to play their best game yet to overcome this dominant Coppell team next week.
