In a District 6-6A matchup on Friday night, the 4-1 Prosper Eagles traveled to face the 3-4 Plano Wildcats. The Wildcats came into the game after winning two big district games against Plano East and Princeton. The Eagles came into the game on a four-game winning streak, having dropped just their season opener against Westlake.
The Eagles wasted no time, jumping to a quick 7-0 lead. Their defense shone bright, making multiple stops and allowing Prosper to extend their lead to 21-0 by the end of the first quarter.
The Eagles continued to dominate in the second quarter, starting with a field goal before Plano Senior scored their first points, cutting the lead to 24-7. However, Prosper’s offense proved too much for the Wildcats, adding another touchdown to take a commanding 31-7 lead into halftime. After the break, Prosper maintained their offensive momentum, tacking on 17 more points and ultimately sealing the game at 48-14. Plano Senior struggled to find their rhythm, only managing one more score in the fourth quarter.
Looking ahead, the Prosper Eagles will face a great test as they take on a very challenging McKinney High team coming off a 31-7 victory over Plano West. The Wildcats are set to face McKinney Boyd, who is seeking to enter the win column after a 28-18 loss to Rock Hill.
