As it stands this week, Rockdale is in first with Cameron Yoe, Franklin and Troy rounding out the top four spots respectively. Though both teams have one loss, Franklin’s loss was more significant with it coming at the hands of Cameron Yoe in a 42-38 game back in September. Even more significant is the fact that Rockdale handily beat Cameron You back in mid-October 80-54.

So it would seem the “underdog” label could be more appropriately placed on a Franklin squad that has averaged a little more than 44 points a game. Rockdale’s only loss came against a 4A Taylor team that is in first place in their respective district. Rockdale however counters Franklin’s point per game average with a bit more than 49 points per game.

So with two potent offensive teams battling out in a late season district game it could be expected for a light show on the scoreboard to be happening when these two teams meet.

Rockdale running back Davion Ford is coming off a career high game for the Tigers where he posted 339 rushing yards and five touchdowns last week in their win against McGregor. Franklin is coming off its highest point total of the season after posting 68 against Jarrell last week. Rockdale’s wide open attack will face some challenges against Franklin’s stifling defense, but Ford and co. are ready to put some numbers on the board.

With both teams making a top ten appearance in our latest power rankings (No.6 Franklin & No.10 Rockdale) this game should be circled on everyone’s calendar as the playoffs draw closer and closer.
